Finally there is an end to 2013. Filmytime gets our viewers most exclusive reviews of movies released each and every month in the year 2013. We deal only with the notable movies giving out details about their performace at the box-office. Getting into the detailed analysis below.

January: Two BIG movies, Naayak and SVSC marked success in the beginning of 2013. Naayak was released first followed by SVSC. Both of them, though gained good collections, SVSC  tops the month owing to its special feature, Multistarrer. The film marked the beginning of a late faded trend. Srikanth’s Satruvu and Sevakudu failed to impress audience in this month. January is a good month for film industry with approximated collections more than 120crores.

February: The month belongs to Prabhas. His Mirchi, though started with an average talk, collected 50crores share worth in its final run. The other releases include Ram’s Ongole gittah, an average film as well as Maniratnam’s “Kadali”, a disaster. Siddarth tested his luck again with Jabardasth. But, as usually failed. Many other small releases like Nara Rohit’s Okkadine, Varun Sandesh’s Chammak Challo, etc., failed to secure recognition.

March: March is completely a month of small movies. Sunil failed to impress with his Mr. Pellikoduku. Two movies earned good revenue in this month. They are Back bench Student and Swamy Ra Ra. Both the movies earned unexpected revenues and remained as Blockbusters in Small movie segment. 3G love, aravind2, Jaffa, Mahankali, etc., movies failed at the boxoffice. Both the months of Feb and March earned around 65 crores (Approx) for the industry with Prabhas’s Mirchi collected 46c share among them.

April: April completely belongs to NTR. His most awaited hit came in the form of “Baadshah”. The film took family audience and masses by storm. Though with a very weak content, the film went on collecting a share of around 55c, the biggest so far in the year 2013 proving NTR’s boxoffice stamina once again. The only other movie which was able to sustain NTR’s storm in April was “Gunde Jaari Gallanthayindhe” of Nitin. The film turned out to be a silent hit. Other movies like Gauravam, Shadow, Vasool Raja,  etc. Failed earning a good recognition. However, April remained a sweet month collecting approx 80c share with Baadhshah collecting the major portion of 55c share.

May: May had good movies such as Greekuveerudu, Tadaka, Sukumarudu etc in the first half. Tadaka earned a waiting hit for Naga Chaitanya collecting good numbers. The month ended with the release of “Iddarammayilatho” of Allu Arjun. This stylish entertainer, directed by Puri Jagannath Failed to live upto the expectations of fans. However it managed to collect an amount of 25c.

June: The month of June finally gave a break to Raviteja in the form of “Balupu”. However the show stealer of this month remained Maruti’s “Prema Katha Chitram”. The film raked in unexpected numbers right from day 1 to day 100. Many other films like Pavitra, Something Something, Saradaga ammayilatho, etc bit dust. Both the months together accounted for 75c approx

July: July is a sad month for Film Industry with no good movies at the box office. Sahasam, though has got good reviews failed to impress the boxoffice. Other films like Operation Duryodhana 2, Om 3d, Kevvu keka, etc failed to impress the audience. However, one appreciable aspect of July month should be Kalyanram’s OM3D. The film marked the beginning of Hollywood’s 3D trend into telugu films. Though Action 3D was there, OM 3D was something different. The month hardly earned 25crores

August: August is completely a dull month with no noted releases. Many small films like dalam, adda, Anthaku mundu ah Taruvata, etc were released in this month. The bad performance of August may also be attributed to the political situation in the state.

September: Toofan, Potugadu are noted movies in the first half of the month. Toofan became an all time dud collecting less than 6c share in Andhra Pradesh, a never expected figure for any top hero. The second half of September has to be written in golden letters in TFI history with Pawan Kalyan’s Attarintiki Daredi. The film suffered huge set back with a pre release first half pirated CD’s all along the state. The film however went on raking unexpected number turning out to be an INDUSTRY HIT crossing All time HIGH “Magadheera” collections. The film collected an overall share of 75c proving the stamina of TELUGU FILM INDUSTRY to the world despite of having the worst “PIRACY” issue ever.

October: Three big movies Ramayya Vastavayya, Doosukeltha and Bhai are released in this month. Doosukeltha raked good number while BHAI remained as the biggest disaster collecting less than 5c share. The same might be attributed to NTR’s Ramayya Vastavayya. With immense pre-release hype, the film failed to meet the expectations of fans. But however, NTR once again proved his Box-office stamina collecting an approximate share of 40crores with a disaster, thus changing its position from disaster to an above average to average film. The film was a minor loss venture in some areas, but broke even in many other areas. This is attributed to the low amounts of prices sold as well as producer Dil Raju’s own release at many areas. However, October month remained sweet one for TFI earning 60c approximate share with NTR’s Ramayya Vastavayya collecting an approcimate 40c share.

November: Biggest movie released in this month would be Varna. This Bi-Lingual movie starring Anushka and Aarya, failed to rake minimum numbers and became the biggest disaster of 2013 next to Ram Charan’s toofan. Masala, a continuation of Multi starrer trend having Venkatesh and Ram in main roles failed to earn a hit. The film had to settle back with average talk. Venkatadri Express which was released on 29/11/13 gained very good openings. The film ran fulls even on third weekend too! The month hardly earned 20c for industry.

December:  Venkatadri express added good to TFI this month. Aadu Magadra Bujji, Prema Ishq Kadal, Uyyala jampala, D for Dopidi, etc were released in this month. Only big film might be Dhoom3 (Telugu).  Biryani, a Tamil dub also earned respectable figures. The month earned around 20c too.

Overall 2013 seemed good for all big heroes as well as small heroes. NTR, Mahesh, Prabhas, Ram Charan gained Blockbuster each. Pawan Kalyan topped the list with an “Industry Hit”. Small movies also fared well in 2013. On the whole, 2013 should be noted in TFI history as the year after 2009 which noted an “Industry Hit” next to “Magadheera”.
